Anti-war demonstrators cool off in Washington D.C., spring, 1970
It's what dissent in America is all about!
Self-will, dissent and rebellion are essential to freedom.
"We need to recognize that dissent is American,
that protest is patriotic. It is, in fact, one of the
fundamental traits that define us." Ralph Young
Why should we allow the religious beliefs of some
to infringe upon the freedoms of others?
Why should we allow superstition, religious fervor,
and conformity to obstruct scientific research
and limit the availability of medical treatments?
Dissent; because some things are just plain wrong.
You don't have to sit down and shut your mouth,
just because you're told to.

Linked photographs depict the Black Panthers, Anti War demonstrations
that took place during the 1970s in Washington D.C., the Weathermen,
and, more recently, enthusiastic young people rallying for marijuana
reform and the legalization of ibogaine as a treatment for addiction.
